The Finnish Adoption Board customer service closed around the New Year – we will be available as of 7 Jan
The Finnish Adoption Board is s transferring to the new Finnish Supervisory Agency, which will begin operations on 1 January 2026. Because of the technical changes required in this reform and because of the Christmas holidays, the Finnish Adoption Board customer service will be closed from 31 December 2025 to 6 January 2026. We will resume normal service on 7 January 2026.
We recommend that you plan any contacts by phone outside of the dates given above. Our aim is for the transition to cause as little technical disruption as possible for adoption applicants.
The secure forms of the permission administration will remain available on the current website of the Finnish Adoption Board until 31 December 2025. From New Year 2026, the secure forms will be available on our new website, adoptionboard.fi.
Possible delays in processing permit applications
The adoption permission administration of the Adoption Board has a backlog of applications at the moment, and processing times for new applications may be longer than usual at and after the New Year. More information on this has been provided in a news item on the permission administration backlog posted in October.
